- An extension of the boulevard level towards the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) expansion to establish 4 new function facilities
- New podium level swimming pool
- New ground floor retail space fronting Grey Street occupying the existing loading dock area Refurbishment of the existing loading dock, including screening of existing Rydges carpark ramp and water tank
- General improvements (including landscaping) to the Glenelg and Grey Street facades to top of podium.
The Rydges boulevard redevelopment will re-activate this prominent corner site strengthening the physical connection between northern and southern parts of Grey Street. It will also improve connectivity at street level between the newly built BCEC expansion and ABC developments.
Works began in December 2011 and are expected to be complete in late 2012. During construction, the north bound lane of Grey Street (between Glenelg and Russell Streets) will be closed occasionally under controlled traffic conditions. Appropriate detours will be put in place.
